Senior Focus
Older adults face special problems. The Mountainview focus is designed to diagnose and treat the complex symptoms of the elderly that are many times attributed to aging. Agitation, verbal outbursts, and odd, unpredictable thinking that is not based in reality are often characteristic of the symptoms shown in many elderly patients.

Many studies indicate that older adults are at greater risk for mental disorders and addictive diseases than younger age groups. It is estimated that between 60 and 70 percent of the elderly experience symptoms of mental illness, such as anxiety, psychosis, and cognitive impairments; with depression being the number one diagnosis.

Mountainview follows a carefully structured individualized treatment plan that focuses on the patient's emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Team Approach Benefits Patient
Every patient at Mountainview is under the care of a treatment team directed by experienced and highly qualified physicians.

Psychiatric nurses, social workers, and activity therapists may be utilized as part of the treatment teams. Therapeutic activities that teach healthy, productive work and leisure skills, are also part of the treatment process. Hospital chaplains are also available upon request.

Adult Psychiatric Program
Mountainview provides an intensive comprehensive, interdisciplinary program for patients with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. These diagnoses include: depression, panic disorder, anxiety, psychosis, and other mental illnesses. An individualized treatment plan is developed for each patient, thus allowing the patient to work toward specific goals in a stress-free environment.

A typical day for the patient includes structured and unstructured activities. Structured activities include: individual and group therapy, community activities, study groups, activity therapy and recreation. Unstructured activities are available during the patient's free time.

In-Patient Treatment Programs
Mountainview offers separate programs for patients requiring inpatient treatment. Facility design and program structure provides comfort, privacy, and safety for patients.

Areas of inpatient care are:

Adult Psychiatric
Addictive Disorders/Dual Diagnosisópatients with a general psychiatric illness and secondary dependency.
