Mountainview Treatment Center wins inaugural ‘Freda Flamingo’ Award
September 21, 2011
CEO Bruce Baldwin, center, and CNO Shirley Scarlatti, far right, presented Mountainview Treatment Center with the first inaugural Freda Flamingo Award on Sept. 20. Accepting the award and representing all Mountainview employees were Dana Lowdermilk, Darryl Reece, nursing director Olivia Raulston, and medical director Dr. Sarath.
So there’s this blow-up pink flamingo named “Freda” in the administration department.
No, that sentence is not the beginning of a joke; Freda was acquired several weeks ago for a different project – that actually needed a stork…
To make a long story short, a flamingo is not a stork and never will be! So what to do with Freda? Enter the Freda Flamingo Award. This humorous, yet sincere award is given to the team members of any Grandview deptartment that goes above and beyond what is required in both service to our patients and service to our hospital.
The winning department each period gets to “adopt” Freda until the next department is named. The award presentation includes candy “eggs” from Freda, hospital recognition, and a framed plaque for display.
The inaugural recipient of the Freda Flamingo is the team of professionals at Mountainview Treatment Center. The Mountainview staff has worked hard this summer caring for an almost full census of patients every day and by their extensive work in the community, especially in mental health-related activities such as the Alzheimer’s Walk. .
Grandview CEO Bruce Baldwin, CNO Shirley Scarlatti, and CFO Rodney VanDonkelaar presented Freda during the hospital’s weekly Tuesday Treat hour on Sept. 20.
Who will win Freda over next time? Only time and superior customer service will tell…..stay tuned!
